The one-cent note is a Hong Kong currency in circulation in the past, with a denomination of HK$0.01.
As the Second World War approached Hong Kong, there was a shortage of coins in the market. The Hong Kong government issued it in May 1941. One cent notes , printed on both sides. After the restoration of Hong Kong in 1945, there was still a shortage of coins in the market, so they were issued. One cent note , printed on one side, bearing the face value and a portrait of King George VI. In 1961, due to the shortage of coins in the market, the Hong Kong government issued it again One cent note , the design is the same as the 1945 version, but reprinted with the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, but later mainly used for paying taxes and paying electricity bills. The one-cent note ceased to be legal tender until September 30, 1995.
