1900年香港地圖

This map of Hong Kong, created around 1900, is believed to have been published in 1902 by The Century Co. The first edition of this map was released in 1897 as part of a larger map of the Chinese Empire during the Qing dynasty. It was later updated in 1902 and published as a second edition.
The map depicts Hong Kong Island and the Kowloon district, both of which were ceded to the United Kingdom in 1841 by the Treaty of Nanking and in 1860 by the Convention of Peking (also known as the First Convention of Peking). Although the Second Convention of Peking, signed on June 9, 1898, dealt with the extension of Hong Kong's territory, this map does not show the newly added landmass.
In addition to shipping routes, the map details basic mountain features, coastlines, and sea levels. It also records population density at the time, indicating that the population of Hong Kong exceeded 500,000, with the City of Victoria housing between 100,000 and 400,000 inhabitants. You can tell by the different fonts and sizes the map used when labeling the cities name.
Another noteworthy aspect of the map is that many city and town names are inaccurately translated. For instance, Kowloon Bay is labeled as "Kau-Lung Bay," Tseung Kwan O is named "Chung Kwang-O," and Hung Hom appears as "Hongham."
